Job summary

  • This role is intended to provide the day-to-day management of the Pharmacy IT systems, (EPMA).
  • Managing the procurement of drugs into the department.
  • Manage and maintain drug contracts.
  • Ensure training on pharmacy related IT systems are provided to appropriate employees.
  • Planning and implementing of IT changes locally and trust wide.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of medicines throughout the Trust.
  • Support in ensuring system resilience and data integrity through the provision of comprehensive and robust back up and contingency strategies.
  • This role is intended to promote the safe and effective use of medicines in all care situations, working with care staff and service users directly.
  • To contribute to an efficient and accurate pharmacy service to SHSC NHS Trust

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Pharmacy service by facilitating, supporting, and maintaining the smooth running of Pharmacy Information Technology systems in liaison with the Trust Information Technology Department.
  • Train and support SHSC trust employees in the use of all pharmacy IT systems including EPMA.
