Job summary

The South Community Mental Health Service is undergoing an exciting transformation with additional resource allocation to provide ongoing intensive support to the population of the Sheffield, this includes working towards a joint approach with Primary Care and the Voluntary Sector, reviewing the CMHT Service Criteria and working in discreet small teams into local communities leading to a high quality care standard.

The successful candidate will be supported with their professional and leadership development through dedicated supervision with highly experienced and motivated team managers, where learning opportunities will be supported and encouraged. From the multi-disciplinary team, we offer regular CPD sessions and candidates are encouraged to bring their own interests to the team to share and develop their specific interests in mental health.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with people providing support to staff working with patients in a discreet Care Group alongside Primary Care Networks in the South of Sheffield. You will provide support, give time in order to promote positive outcomes and encourage the development your staff group providing clinical leadership and oversight of the team. You will be lead the multidisciplinary team providing supervision, leading changes and enhancing processes and systems locally, feeding into wider discussion on an Organizational level. Alongside supporting the Service Manager to delivery Key Performance Indicators.

  • oAwareness of current community mental health issues , policies and developments
  • oHave an understanding of working within local and national targets, service key performance indicators and quality standards
  • oMonitoring and addressing quality standards.
  • oExperience of supervising staff and undertaking individual Personal Development Reviews (PDR)
  • oProviding leadership and effective decision making whilst exposed to challenging and emotional situations.

Desirable

  • oExperience of working with a culturally diverse population
  • oInvolvement in audit or evaluation
  • oExperience of service improvement within the framework of Clinical Governance.
  • oAbility to communicate effectively with key stakeholders

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of clinical risk assessment/risk management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of local and national policy related to mental health
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health act and other relevant legislation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Be competent and confident, to provide expertise, advice and clinical and managerial leadership and role modelling to the teams they are working with.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records

  • Use of and interpretation of performance date for the use of service improvement
  • Knowledge of importance of Physical Heath assessments and audits and the impact on service users.
