Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Physiotherapist keen to take up this opportunity to develop their skills within the speciality of Mental Health. This is a 12 month fixed term post to cover a maternity leave.
The Mental Health Physiotherapy Team currently consists of a Specialist Physiotherapist, Senior Physiotherapist, Physiotherapy Assistant & Fitness Instructors. The team provides a service to adult & older adult inpatient areas across the city. The team works with Service Users presenting with a wide range of mental health and physical health conditions & needs.
Main duties of the job
The role involves physiotherapy assessment and treatment of service users on acute adult & older adult inpatient wards, including a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). You will also work with multi-disciplinary teams in falls assessments, prevention & management
The Physiotherapy service use a variety of physical activities to improve health and wellbeing in line with the physical health agenda. This role includes offering advice and training to other staff around individuals' physical health needs as required, for example Moving and Handling, the assessment & provision of equipment and falls prevention.
You will be provided with support and supervision from the Band 7 Physiotherapist and have access to relevant training to support your CPD.
