Job summary
This appointment is for a part time Consultant at Sheffield Adult Autism & Neurodevelopmental Service (5 sessions). The post holder will be responsible for providing medical input with a focus on ADHD and consultancy into ASD Team for duel diagnosis.
The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues in SANNS and clinicians working with ADHD across SHSC and support training and education.
The principal aim of the post is to provide medical leadership in the multidisciplinary team, offering clinical assessments and follow ups, advice and consultation to other teams across primary and secondary care supporting assessment and treatment of ADHD and the challenges associated with using medication under the misuse of drugs legislation.
Main duties of the job
Applicants should have a higher qualification in psychiatry (Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent) and be included on or be eligible for inclusion on the GMC's Specialist Register. Specialty Registrars who are within 6 months of attainment of CCST at the time of interview are eligible to apply. The appointee should be both S12 approved.
The post holder will have office accommodation, with IT support for e-mail, internet access and secretarial support. The post holder will be issued with a mobile phone, laptop and any other equipment required for the role and to support any flexible working arrangements.
