Job summary

This post is for a senior occupational therapist who will be responsible for the continuing delivery of theoccupational therapy treatment pathways alongside multidisciplinary approaches within the CommunityRehabilitation Team, Haringey for 3 days a week

In addition to other tasks the post holder will work closely with the team to work with our 18 month group programme for persons leaving locked rehabilitation to ensure safe transition to living in the community.

The role will include working with individuals, care homes, families, and care teamsto assist individuals in meeting occupational therapy goals, delivering groups and offering training to the supported livinghome staff to further enhance the support for service users.

The post holder will work with service users who have complex and substantial needs, often working with persons with dual diagnosis and coexisting conditions including physical health needs.

Having a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, 1983 (amended 2007) will be required as the post holder will support service users return to or adjust to new accommodation in the community following admission to hospital and with the aim of preventing hospital admissions.

  • Dip/BSc(Hons)/MSc in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered OT

Desirable

  • Evidence of other relevant Postgraduate education/ relevant CPD

  • Experience of mental health inpatient and/or community areas, working with people going through a mental health
