The Post-holder will provide day to day clinical leadership to an experienced Multi-disciplinary team. This will include undertaking routine daily senior medical reviews and MHAAs at MHCAS; liaising with emergency department liaison teams/medical staff (when patients move between the two services); providing brief clinical reports and handover information to inpatient ward staff prior to transfer of patients subsequently detained under the mental health act and providing clinical guidance to other team members as and when required. The HBPOS and MHCAS liaison teams provide a 24/7 integrated model of care for all patients. They will also assist other team members in their development of skills relevant to the assessment and care of general and older adult patients.

The Post-holder and the team are also expected to forge close links with other Liaison Consultants in the Trust based across the organization.
