Job summary
We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and skilled Psychologist with a passion for community psychology approaches to work across Project 10/10 and the newly developed YPS. Project 10/10 is an innovative community project aimed at supporting young people who have been affected by community-based violence in Camden. The YPS is a specialist service that aims to make mental health support more accessible for young adults.
Core Team & YPS
The YPS is a specialist pathway within the core team offer for young adults with complex needs who require an alternative approach to that currently offered by the Core Teams and/or CANDI Specialist Mental Health Services. The post holder will work directly with young adults through clinic-based and community outreach sessions, as well as supporting the systems and networks around them through consultation, training and co-working.
Project 10/10 is a multi-agency project bringing together Health, Local Authority, and Voluntary Sector in an innovative approach to supporting young people (18-25) affected by violence and crime. Lead by Coram's Fields Youth Centre, the model fuses youth work principles with community psychology theory and trauma-informed working practices to reach young people impacted by community-based violence. The post holder will coproduce drop-in group spaces with the team and young people, and work with the systems around these young people to lobby for systemic change.
Main duties of the job
Specialising in Young Adults (18-25) The post holder will play a vital role in bridging the work that Project 10/10 does with the model being developed by Camden & Islington NHS Core Teams under the newly developing YPS pathway, helping to strengthen and develop this partnership in meeting the needs of this complex and vulnerable group of young people. As a psychologist embedded in both teams you will be uniquely positioned to influence the culture of how we work in a new and collaborative ways, co-creating this approach with the young people, which is a core principle for how we work.
