Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to the role of Education and Training Manager within the People Matters directorate. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of inter-personal and organisational skills. The role will be on a part time basis, 30 hours per week (0.8wte).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to take the lead for mandatory and statutory training across the trust and lead a well established and friendly team covering a range of subject areas.

Main duties of the job

This post will provide strategic leadership and be the organisation lead for statutory and mandatory training across the Trust. They will be a key senior member of thePeople Development Team.

The post holder will lead the research, development and delivery of excellent statutory and mandatory learning required for all staff to provide safe delivery of care to patients and service users and ensure the Trust meets its statutory and mandatory training requirements for all staff.The postholder will provide leadership and line management to the clinical skills teamin the development and delivery of Basic Life Support (BLS), Moving and Handling, Care Certificate and Calderdale Competencies.The postholder will engage with and build effective working relationships with other key partners e.g. Trusts/NHSE to ensure that the Trust is aligning its objectives for Statutory and Mandatory training / Growth and Skills Levy with national requirements.

  • A degree and post-graduate qualification e.g., CIPD, or MSc/BA in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of on-going professional development, including relevant high level academic and/or professional qualifications

  • Experience of implementing and managing the Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) ncluding advising the organisation, managers and SMEs.
  • Experience of using HR Sytems (ESR, OLM)
  • Experience of working with SMEs to develop effective statutory and mandatory training programmes
  • Experience of analysing and presenting information in a variety of formats
  • Experience of managing a budget as post is a budget holder. Including reducing costs/ efficiency gains, monitoring and determining corrective action.
