Job summary

Here at Bradford District Care Trust (BDCT) an exciting opportunity has arisen at Child and Adolescent Mental Heath Service (CAMHS) to take a lead in Specialist Education Needs & Disability (SEND) for children and young people. We are looking for a highly motivated, approachable, dependable and enthusiastic individual to undertake this role.

This is a great opportunity to take a lead for SEND in CAMHS, making sure colleagues are up to date with legislations and working with different services to ensure children and young people with SEND have the same outcomes as those without SEND.

Our health care services cover Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven. CAMHS have two offices: one based in Fieldhead (Bradford) and the other in Hillbrook (Keighley). You may be required to work across both sites.

Main duties of the job

To work in partnership with and ensure better collaboration between education, health, social care, and voluntary sector partner agencies to enable a holistic focus and sharing of information to support children and young people aged 0-18 live contented and fulfilled lives.

To collaborate with the local authority and in line with contractual arrangements provide relevant information, reports, advice, and appropriate health care provision to meet the needs of children and young people with SEN or disabilities.

They will support the integrated Education Health care (EHC) needs assessment process and coordinate EHCP report requests from the Local Authority.

Essential

  • Post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development in a relevant area
  • Registered Nurse (RGN), Social worker, allied health professional or registered with a professional body.

Desirable

  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, such as SEND, Learning Disabilities, Transforming Care, Autism, or other specialist areas.

Experience

  • Minimum of twelve months at Band 5 or equivalent responsibility in a CYP Mental health setting.
