Job summary

This position at the Trust will support the Research Governance Manager as we look to improve and expand our quality assurance around the approval and delivery of research projects as well as our audit delivery and safety reporting for research projects.

The role will be essential for implementing the Trust's research strategy. This expansion is crucial to ensuring we have good quality assurance and allowing us to expand our audit delivery and safety reporting for research projects.

Main duties of the job

This role will include coordinating approval of research activity across the Trust, liaising with research management, other organisations and supporting staff, public, service users and carers engaged in research.

In addition, a function post is to assist in the delivery of a safe, efficient and timely Research Governance for the Trust by promoting and facilitating the setup and delivery of high-quality research activity within the Trust, and ensure that all such research is conducted in full compliance with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research, and other relevant regulation.

The governance oversight of the Trust NIHR portfolio studies and its non-portfolio studies will be a major function of this post and the post-holder will assist in the, co-ordination, auditing and monitoring of all aspects of research. This will include assisting in recording and reporting the Trust's performance in meeting local, regional and national performance targets.

The post holder will be a versatile and dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal skills who will be required to work with a range of services across BDCFT (both clinical and non-clinical), alongside partner academic and NHS Trust organisations.
