Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Occupational Therapy Team Leader to join and lead the Occupational Therapy team within the Low Secure Inpatient service at Moorlands View.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the team and service users within the low secure setting. The Occupational Therapy Team Leader will work alongside the Transition Team to support service users reaching their full potential and enable safe discharge.
The Occupational Therapy Team Leader will support the Occupational Therapy Team within low secure services across the three wards, providing managerial supervision and governance of the service.
The successful candidate will deputise for the Clinical Manager as required.

Main duties of the job
- Manages a complex occupational therapy caseload from assessment to discharge within the care programme approach. Service users may have multiple needs with a combination of physical and mental health needs or learning disability.
- Line Management responsibility:Professional and Clinical management of Occupational Therapists across inpatients servicesdisabilities. Service users may demonstrate behaviours that challenge and may have difficult family circumstances of relevance.
- Take a lead role to ensure that the highest professional standards and attitudes towards care of service users and their carers are maintained at all times with compassion and in accordance with evidence based practice and professional guidelines by all members of the occupational therapy team.
- Provides specialist advice to occupational therapy staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team and wider trust through case discussion, formal consultation, clinical supervision and education.
- Provides specialist advice, guidance and education to staff across health and social carer providers to maximise the rehabilitation potential of service users.
- Provides consultation to staff of other partner trusts and external agencies regarding the care and support needs of service users in acute care.
- Acts as a lead professional for service users where appropriate and may undertake care co-ordination for service users on Care Programme Approach where occupational therapy is the key need
