An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Bradford and District Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services as a mental Health Practitioner training in systemic family practice.

The successful applicant will be working and training in a community based multi-disciplinary team delivering a service to children, young people and their families in a supportive environment, where differences is respected and valued. You will have the opportunity to play a significant role in the delivery of a modernised and comprehensive service.

The post requires enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who are willing to make a real change. Do you have a 'can do' attitude and are you quality focused? Are you enthusiastic, motivated and ready for a challenge, possess excellent communication and organisational skills?

The post is a fixed term training role aligned to systemic family practice; applicants will have experience of supporting children and young people with their mental health/wellbeing, hold a recognised registration (see JD/PS) and demonstrate the aptitude to study at Level 7.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the development and provision of services to children and young people with complex mental health needs. This will include assessing, planning and delivering care packages both within groups and also individually and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The 1-year full time training course is provided by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Manchester. The post holder will be required to attend face to face and online training at the Psychological Therapies Training Centre based in Prestwich, Manchester. The post holder will also be required to undertake self-study days alongside working within the service facilitated through a job plan and under supportive supervision.
