Job summary

Bradford District Care Trust has an exciting opportunity to join the trust as a mental health practitioner within Children Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We are looking to recruit band 6 practitioners (nurses, social workers, occupational therapists) into both the CORE CAMHS

You will be working in a community based multi-disciplinary team delivering a service to children in a rich and diverse community, young people and their families in a supportive and lively team, where different professions are respected and valued. You will have the opportunity to play a significant role in the leadership delivery of a modernised and comprehensive service.

We are seeking to recruit a number of professionally qualified practitioners to further develop and grow our multi-disciplinary CAMHS team.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Core CAMHS Team which supports children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties through the provision of assessment, evidence based individual and group intervention and joint casework with other CAMHS teams where clinically indicated. .

o To make autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice within the context of multi-disciplinary team approach.

o To provide specialist supervision, consultation, teaching and training to colleagues in children's health and education services as required on issues relating to children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties

o To contribute to service development and delivery activities both internally and inpartnerships with key stakeholders

o Operational duties relating to the Core CAMHS team.

Core CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team at the heart of CAMHS. We deliver a range of therapeutic interventions to support patients with a wide range of mental health presentations. We support children and young people with moderate to severe mental health presentations.

Core CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team at the heart of CAMHS. We deliver a range of therapeutic interventions to support patients with a wide range of mental health presentations. Core has support from colleagues in specialist teams such as eating disorders and psychological therapies.

Do you possess excellent communication and organisational skills?

There are clear pathways within the service embedding multidisciplinary working. The main roles of core mental health practitioners are care co-ordination. This includes a comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment with the patient and their families creating a patient centred formulation and care plan, setting clear goals to support their recovery. As a part of this process robust and effective risk assessments are undertaken with the young person and this requires the ability to communicate in a wide range of media

What support is there?

The Core team has psychosocial and clinical oversight within the team from senior psychologists. The Core team have access to medics when the clinical need for treatment is identified. Core staff are allocated a clinical supervisor and receive monthly clinical supervision. Staff are also allocated a multi-disciplinary formulation group for support with complex presentations as well as monthly case load management to support colleagues.
