Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible, committed and enthusiastic Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated pharmacy team.
The post holder will work in the pharmacy technician-managed dispensary at the Lynfield Mount Hospital in Bradford. You will play a key role in the provision of specialist technical pharmacy services, helping us to deliver and improve the quality of patient care. There will also be a requirement to travel to the Airedale Centre for Mental Health (ACMH) in Steeton on occasion.
The successful candidate will hold the NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services, however we will consider candidates who do not hold this qualification and provide the necessary training to support you to obtain this qualification.
If you have no experience of working in a hospital dispensary you are encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided to enable you to develop your skills and knowledge to their full potential.
The successful candidate should have good computer skills, demonstrate they can work accurately, have excellent communication skills and be proactive. They need to be able to work as part of a team, be organised, and have a willingness to learn.

Main duties of the job
- To deliver a safe and effective pharmacy service
- The post holder will undertake duties in support of the department, including reception duties, dispensing, packing and distributing medicines and general housekeeping duties
- The post holder will be responsible for the daily ordering and receipt of drugs for the dispensary.
- Maintaining accurate stock levels in the dispensary including daily stock taking.
- The post holder will provide support to the senior pharmacy technicians and dispensary manager.
- The purpose of this post should remain constant, but the duties and responsibilities may vary over time within the overall role and level of the post. The post holder may from time to time be asked to undertake other reasonable duties. Any such changes will be made in discussion with the post holder in the light of service needs.
