Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Clerk to join our busy Payroll Team.

As a Payroll Clerk you will be responsible for contributing, along with other team members, to providing a high quality, customer focused payroll service. Your primary focus will be responding to and resolving routine queries from managers, employees, clients and third parties. At least 50% of your time will be spent being the first point of contact on the telephone so it is essential that you can demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills.

You will actively contribute to the wider payroll and pensions team by working in collaboration and keeping sound and up to date knowledge of departmental practices.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a payroll or HR customer service environment and will be familiar with using service desk/help desk systems. The ability to work to deadlines and prioritise an ad-hoc workload is also key to this role.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday from our New Mill office in Saltaire.

Main duties of the job

o To contribute to a high quality, customer focused payroll service with the main job purpose of responding to and resolving routine queries from managers, employees, clients and third parties.

o To actively contribute to the wider payroll and pensions team by working in collaboration and keeping sound and up to date knowledge of departmental practices.

o Act as first point of contact for Payroll and Pensions Service Desk.

o To process payroll and pensions related documents and uploads in accordance with statutory requirements and NHS national terms and conditions of service
