Job summary
The post holder will be a key member of the Directorate of Patient Safety, Quality and Experience and Trust wide senior management team, with specific responsibility for deputising for the Executive Director of Nursing, Professions and Care Standards across aspects of the role relating to quality governance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, legal services, patient safety, patient experience and the management of risk.
The post holder will be responsible for the strategic development and leadership of the implementation of strategies relating to all aspects of the portfolio with a specific focus on patient safety and risk management. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, the Trust Secretary and the Trust's Clinical leadership, the post holder will build and refine high quality, integrated and effective governance structures that support deployment of the Trust's strategy, Better Lives, Together. The post holder will take a leadership role in ensuring that robust, proportionate and responsive clinical/quality governance structures are embedded throughout the Trust which enable us to 'know our business, understand our business and improve our business' in line with our Care Trust Way ethos.
With direct line management responsibilities for the Head of Patient Safety, The Head of Quality Assurance, Compliance and Patient Experience and the Head of Legal Services, the post holder will have a diverse and varied portfolio.
Main duties of the job
They will be responsible for providing leadership and direction across this portfolio and working in collaboration with the senior leadership of the Directorate of Patient Safety, Quality and Experience to ensure delivery of robust professional services that enable the Trust to meet its ambitions to deliver the Best Quality Services, be the Best Place to Work, make the Best Use of its Resources and be the Best Partner.
The post holder will lead across patient safety, risk management and quality governance and will provide expert compliance and regulatory advice as required across the Trust, as well as being an expert resource on national issues and local interpretation of national and local regulatory policy, guidance and best practice.
The post holder will work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including but not limited to relevant statutory agencies, partner organisations across Bradford District and Craven Health & Care Partnership and the West Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership, service users, families and the wider community.
