Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity available for an 8a Psychologist to join the Bradford and Airedale Early Intervention Psychosis Team service as Clinical Lead. The successful applicant will play an important role in shaping the psychological input and therapeutic delivery across the service.

Bradford EIP is a nationally recognised, top performing mental health service, specialising in the support and care of young people and adults with, or at risk of developing psychosis. The successful applicant will join a supportive, forward-thinking service with a rich history for delivering high quality care using Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual approaches.

We are looking to recruit the right person for the role and in doing so are also offering the role as an initial Band7 fixed term 12-month development preceptorship to those wanting to develop specialist Clinical Skills and make the transition from a band 7 to band 8a. On successful completion of the preceptorship within a 12 month period the role will transition to a permanent 8a. For those without experience in working with Psychosis, scaffolding, additional training, and support to deliver supervision is available within the first 12 months of the role. A tailored package of training is also available to those applicants wanting to develop their competence in clinically leading the Psychological Therapies Team.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Lead works closely with the senior management team in EIP, and has the opportunity to work creatively, shaping psychological therapies to best fit our communities of Bradford.

The role will also include a small caseload to ensure Accreditation and Clinical Skills can be maintained - this will likely be 2 days, with the remaining days dedicated to instilling a psychological perspective in the team, facilitating team formulation, inputting to management meetings, and creating a training matrix for therapists and wider service.

The role also includes oversight of Therapy outcome measures, working alongside our Data Analyst and Assistant Psychologist to collate and make meaningful recommendations based on findings. This role has great potential in shaping research and new ways of working with individuals, families, and marginalised communities.

The Bradford EIP service is a supportive and creative environment; the Senior Team work closely to offer continuous guidance and support. We value the continuous development of all, Clinical Supervision and CPD are a priority within the Team.

We would welcome contact from interested candidates to discuss the role, if you would like to come and visit the service please do not hesitate to contact Mick Mesa Clinical Manager mick.mesa@bdct.nhs.uk
