We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapeutic Volunteer Coordinator to join our expanding Volunteer Service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person, who values volunteers and has experience of working within Mental Health promoting recovery, to coordinate and develop the day to day activities of volunteers across the mental health wards and Four Seasons Cafe at Lynfield Mount Hospital.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for coordinating a team of volunteers, some of whom may have been recent service users, making sure they have a positive experience. You will develop and design volunteer-led therapeutic activity that meets the needs of service users.
We are looking for someone who is either:
- a qualified Occupational Therapist (or other health and social care professional),
- or someone with substantial experience within mental health and has experience of volunteering or working with volunteers.
The role is based within both Occupational Therapy and the Volunteer Service with some flexibility of working from home.
To coordinate the day to day activity of volunteers within Lynfield Mount Hospital/Airedale Centre for Mental Health. Including the development and supporting the delivery of volunteer led therapeutic activity. Ensure volunteers are appropriately trained and supported for the role they are undertaking. Managing volunteer rotas and task allocation across the mental health wards and Four Seasons Caf, providing 1:1 supervision, ensuring resources required for volunteer activities are in place, authorising volunteer expenses and liaising with clinical staff in the development and coordination of volunteer activity.
To engage with existing and new volunteers to ensure they have an excellent volunteering experience.

- BHSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy or equivalent professional qualification in clinical discipline or degree-level qualification in relevant field , and substantial experience (2 years) in: oSupporting people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problemsManaging risk within a mental health setting oSupervising others to support their development and ensure quality of volunteer activity.. oIdentifying individual and/or collective needs and developing recovery-focused initiatives to meet those needs.
