Principal Clinical Psychologist
Neurodevelopmental and Learning Disability Pathways
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Bradford District
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our leadership team in Bradford. The role is supported by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and a team of Principal Psychologists who work collaboratively and creatively to deliver excellence across the Service. Psychological Therapists from a range of therapeutic orientations, Practitioner Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists work under the Psychological Therapy umbrella to support work at all levels of the system, ensuring psychological understanding and formulation is embedded from the front door of patient care through to service development and representation at a wider professional and organisational level.

Main duties of the job
-To act independently and use own initiative within appropriate operational guidelines and service protocols; deciding where necessary to refer to the Clinical Lead and/or Head of Psychological Therapies.
-To act independently and use own initiative within appropriate occupational and clinical guidelines; deciding where necessary to refer to the Clinical Lead and/or Head of Psychological Therapies.
-Provide specialist evidence based psychological therapy, making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
-Provide clinical/professional leadership, supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies.
-Provide clinical/professional leadership, service/policy development, specialist teaching and advice for a designated portfolio of clinical pathway(s).
-Support adherence to relevant NICE guidance and clinical governance arrangements.
-To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.
-Work with the Clinical Lead and/or Head of Psychological Therapies on service development, leading research and development activities.
