We are looking to appoint a confident, competent Band 5 Staff Nurse to support a vital piece of project work. This will be a pilot project, initially for 12 months and will involve a full and thorough evaluation of the Nursing role, impact and outcomes for children / young people. .
The successful candidate will work as part of the project team, act as a conduit between Public Health Nursing Children's services, support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and, where necessary, link with our Specialist Children's Services such as Children in Care and Youth Justice.
You will be line managed by the School Nursing Service Team Leader but will work closely with the Turnaround Programme offering support to children on the cusp of the youth justice system, preventing them from going on to offend. The aim is to divert more children away from the criminal justice system whilst ensuring that children and families get the right support at the right time. You will be working closely with Police Early Action Team, Youth Justice and Early Help colleagues
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose:
The post holder will work in our School Nursing team and will be integrated and co-located with the Local Authorities Prevention and Early Help team, delivering services within an integrated care pathway.
Under the supervision of the School Nurse the post holder will support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme within a progressive universal model of service delivery dependant on assessed needs.
Using best available evidence, the post holder will work in partnership with key partners and communities to deliver targeted interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families to address health inequalities, especially in those from disadvantaged groups
