Vulnerable Children School Nurse Team - Staff Nurse

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Vulnerable Children School Nurse team as a staff nurse.

The post holder will work to support the Vulnerable Children School Nurse team to ensure a high quality assessment of health needs is undertaken for all school aged children who are subjects of an initial child protection case conference. This will identify whether there are any ongoing or unmet health needs that can be met by the Vulnerable Children School Nurse team for this cohort of children and young people.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertaking in-depth health needs assessments with children and young people who are made subject to a child protection plan at initial child protection case conference
  • The development, delivery and evaluation of care plans and the provision of health advice and support to children, young people and their families open to this team, as required.
  • Plan and deliver evidence based skilled nursing care to children on the Vulnerable Children School Nursing caseload in accordance with Trust policies, guidance, and procedures
  • Attend initial child protection case conferences: attend core group and review case conference if child is open to the Vulnerable Children School Nurse team and has identified health needs that are being supported by the team
  • Work alongside and develop relationships with colleagues and partners to ensure a high quality and consistent approach to initial child protection case conference in adherence to the statutory Guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children, Trust and Local policies and procedures
