Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated, forward thinking, and enthusiastic Band 5 Sexual Health Advisor (a progressive post into Band 6 once competencies have been met), to join our team.
East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust provides Integrated Contraception & Sexual Health (iCaSH) across Bedford, Cambridgeshire, Milton Keynes, Norfolk and Peterborough.
The service delivers care specifically to meet the needs of its diverse population. The Norfolk service is community based with three main clinics in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Kings Lynn, providing contraception, sexual health and HIV care and treatment.
The successful candidate will join a team of friendly, highly skilled and experienced medical, nursing and allied health professionals, supported by clinic assistants and administrative staff, all delivering a high standard of care to patients at our King's Lynn Clinic. You will also work alongside the teams in Norwich and Great Yarmouth, you must be prepared to travel.
Support and training will be provided to assist you to achieve a Band 6 Health Advisor role. The Band 6 Health Advisor Job Description is attached to the vacancy along with the Band 5 Associate Health Advisor Job description.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, including evening until 20:00

Main duties of the job
Job Purpose:
To work with the support of the Sexual Health Advisors to manage a case load of patients within the service which will include consultations both face to face and over the telephone.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To provide advice, information, education, treatment and counselling to patients diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, herpes, HIV, syphilis and hepatitis.
To participate in the management of the results of tests undertaken within the service and carry out partner notification, ensuring the attendance and treatment of contacts, with support of the Sexual Health Advisor.
To participate in provision of a vaccination and recall programme for all eligible patients in relation to Sexual Health (where appropriately trained).
To safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
To participate in providing a safe environment whereby patients can discuss their concerns and ask questions.
Under supervision and with support from the Sexual Health Advisors, provide information and health education for patients diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections, providing support and onward referral and/or signposting as required.
