Job summary
As Cambridgeshire Community Services prepares to merge with Norfolk community Health and care trust to become one of the largest community providers in the country, an exciting opportunity has arisen to help to lead this programme of work as the Assistant Director of Integration and Transitions.
This is a key leadership role in the Strategy and Transformation Directorate , the postholder will co-ordinate all aspects of the work programme to fully integrate the two organisations through the post transaction integration plan ( PTIP)
The role is also responsible for leading and managing transition programmes for the merger and creation of the new Trust; and for transitions in and out of the organisation, within agreed timescales and budget.
The postholder will provide senior leadership to resolve issues and problems.
- Manage and facilitate transition to new pathways and processes across the organisation.
- Manage programme and project delivery in collaborative and matrix working methodologies.
- Implement and manage appropriate governance for the programme, including Programme Board, project and workstream groups.

Main duties of the job
Develop & manage the transition programme for the merger into the new organisation from 1 April 2026
Implement & manage appropriate governance for the programme, including Programme Board, project & workstream groups.
Lead projects & programmes as required or as delegated by the Director of Strategy and Transformation.
Be the day-to-day lead on behalf of the Executive Lead for the successful delivery of the programmes, outcomes/benefits
Plan & design the transition & other programmes and projects. Proactively monitoring their overall progress, resolving issues & initiating corrective action as appropriate.
Define & deliver the programmes governance framework including the development of work plans & risk and issues registers and logs.
Manage & resolve any risks and issues that may arise.
Manage the programme budget, monitoring expenditure & costs against the benefits & ensure that these are realised as the programme develops.
Facilitate the appointment of individuals to the project delivery teams.
Ensure the delivery of each programme meets the workstream requirements & is appropriate quality, on time & within budget.
Along with the Assistant Director Portfolio Management Office & Delivery Team, ensure maximum efficiency in the allocation of resources & skills within the project's portfolio.
Manage third party contributions to the programme.
Report progress through committees & groups defined in the governance framework.

- To communicate complex information to staff including information that will not be received positively, for example, service closures, resulting in job losses or changes. This will require effective interpersonal skills and the development of effective relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- The post holder will be required to provide reports and papers to Executive and Board committees, presenting them as required.
