An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic clinical/counselling psychologist or CBT Therapist, with a background working in child and adolescent services to join our Peterborough Mental Health Support Teams.
The successful candidate will work closely across the 5 Peterborough MHST's, to ensure that the MHST is a success. They will join a dynamic service in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, ways of working and supporting children and young people are actively encouraged.
This is a unique opportunity to engaging in important clinical work within schools and colleges at an early intervention level across Peterborough.

Main duties of the job
This role will support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people across Peterborough, within an early intervention service. The successful applicant will provide psychological assessments and interventions to children, young people and their families, consultation with education establishments, training internally to the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) within the Emotional Health Wellbeing Service (EHWS) and externally to education staff, and staff from the wider professional network.
This work will be in accordance with clinical governance processes and professional standards.

A further ten MHSTs have been launched since then, with two more planned, bringing our total to 14 MHSTs by 2026. By 2030, all schools across England and Wales will have access to a MHST, as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, therefore the successful candidates will be part of an exciting, expanding early intervention service.
The project is a collaboration with between NHS England, Health Education England and the Department for Education, following on from the 2017 Green Paper Transforming children and young peoples mental health provision. This is a roll out of the work to improve access to mental health care for young people.
You will join a supportive service that will have 25 MHST's across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk, so a ready support system is available. The MHSTs sit within CCS NHS Trusts Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service.
