Job summary
We are delighted to be recruiting an apprentice Clinical Associate Psychologists (CAPs) to work within our award winning Just One Number Service.
Just One Number consists of multi-agency professionals working across universal, health, mental health and speech and language services. The front door is a telephone based single point of access that is office based in Cringleford Norwich.
This role will be part of the access to mental health advice and support service, Norfolk and Waveney's new pioneering mental health front door for 0-25. This new service ensures that Children, young people and families get the right support at the right time by the right service, by triaging and delivering advice and guidance.
You will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate empathy and enjoy working in a fast paced, friendly environment. It is important that you have strong communication skills.
The mental health service of Just One Number operates 5 days a week, Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm.
Successful applicants will be expected to work a rotating weekly shift pattern of 8-4 one week and 10-6 the following.
Main duties of the job
The CAP Apprenticeship programme will be undertaken in partnership with the University of East Anglia (UEA). It is an 18-month, full-time training programme leading to the qualification of MSc Clinical associate in psychology. As an apprentice, you will be employed fulltime by CCS and your time will be split between work-based practice and learning. The apprenticeship training programme will begin in early September 2024.
Successful applicants will be appointed at an Agenda for Change Band 5 whilst undertaking the programme, which will transition to a Band 6 qualified CAP role in the same team on successful completion of the training programme. As this opportunity is offered as an Apprenticeship, all training costs will be paid for by the employer.
CAP trainees will be supervised by Clinical Psychologists and work alongside the wider professional teams.
o Currently this is a blended learning course with approximately 75% of sessions delivered online and the remainder delivered in-person at UEA.
o There are specific minimum entry requirements (please see person specification)
o Attendance at all UEA teaching days is compulsory and annual leave cannot be booked for UEA teaching days.
o All CAPs must be in post within the first two weeks of September 2024 to allow them to undertake workplace inductions etc. prior to commencing the course on Monday 16th September 2024.
