Be the lead professional responsible for achieving & maintaining full BFI accreditation/sustain gold accreditation & day to day management of the Baby Friendly team?

You will lead in Standard setting, clinical audit & benchmarking especially in infant feeding & relationship building in order to deliver evidenced based care & to monitor & review quality standards, policies & protocols that is appropriate to the service in line with the clinical governance agenda across the Trust
You will be expected to provide clinical leadership across the Health Visiting Service & take a lead role in developing systems & practices that promote continuous improvement in service delivery which minimises harm to patients & improves patient experience & outcomes.
Engage in clinical practice at an advanced level & provide professional advice & support to staff members, colleagues and managers as required that is research based. These clinical skills must take into account the NMC professional code of conduct & NMC scope of professional practice

Main duties of the job
CCS Bedfordshire and Luton Baby friendly team are dedicated and proud in their achievements and continue to support with wider workforce with maintaining our UNICEF gold accreditation.
Carry out family and staff audits with support from the Baby Friendly team and act on the audit results through the creation of an agreed action plan reflecting user feedback influencing service development.
Lead and develop Health Visiting Infant Feeding Baby Friendly services across Bedfordshire and Luton in line with national and local guidance
Support the development of service guidelines and policies for HV practice in relation to the Baby Friendly standards
Ensure that staff and partner agencies are adhering to International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk substitutes.
Contribute to interagency planning and agree programmes of care for children in need and for those who are likely to suffer significant harm in partnership with the Safeguarding leads and social services/voluntary agencies.
To organise, develop and participate in public health activities focusing around key national targets specific to Baby Friendly standards
To use influencing, negotiating and conflict resolution skills to achieve a favourable outcome and to ensure that staff within provider services are aware of the organisation's ongoing commitment to achieving and maintaining pan Bedfordshire UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative Gold accreditation.
