Main duties of the job

Confidence in handling large volumes of incoming calls per day
Great customer service skills for Face to Face patient queries
Audio typing background, knowledge of Lexacom software desirable
An ability to prioritise and communicate effectively
Excellent self-direction for working in an organised manner
Good team-playing skills to support colleagues
Experience of working for the NHS or similar

This role sits within our iCaSH service in Bedfordshire and is part of a wider offering across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Norfolk, and Suffolk.

Based at Kings Brook 5 St Johns Street Bedford MK42 0AH with occasional shifts at Grove View, Integrated Care Hub, Court Drive, Dunstable, LU5 4JD
The successful candidate will be handling referrals, dealing with incoming and outgoing calls, booking appointments and inputting confidential patient information onto the clinic's computer system. You will also be using a procurement system to buy non-clinical supplies.
This role also includes providing a medical secretary service to our Consultants and Doctors. Fast and accurate audio typing and secretarial skills are therefore essential, as is the ability to take detailed and accurate minutes of management meetings.
You will also be needed to support the reception team when required with call handling and reception duties.
The service currently operates Monday to Saturday and will require some 8am starts, evenings and Saturday work. We provide services in both Bedford and Dunstable and you will be required to work at both sites as needed. You must be willing to travel across the county to meet these requirements.
