Job summary
The Lead Dental Nurse will provide general Dental Nursing and in addition will supervise a team of Registered Dental Nurses to include allocation of work, supervision sessions, conducting appraisals,rotamanagement and act as first point of contact for day-to-day matters of Dental Nurses to ensure the smooth running of the services.
You will need to provide good leadership and direction for staff as a team and individually setting objectives to achieve activity and patient expectation. The post holder will need to promote a management style that acknowledges staff contribution and enhances motivation and development at all levels.

Main duties of the job
1. Day to day supervision of Dental Nurses and allocation of work, including rota management and annual leave to facilitate the smooth running of the Service.2. Provide clinical and administrative support to dentists3. Ensures all dental instruments, equipment is maintained and available for a range of dental procedures, in accordance with Clinical policies.4. Chair and minute at least 3 Dental Nurse Peer Review sessions per annum, acting on any concerns or issues that arise. 5. The Post holder will engage with Service Users on a daily basis either face to face, electronically or over the telephone6. Contribute to local policies and procedures.
