Liaison and Diversion Support Worker Band 3
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 support worker to work within the Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion service supporting the voluntary interview service, an innovative pilot project aimed directly at persons diverted away from police custody.
The team with support of criminal justice partners and colleagues aims to divert people away from the criminal justice system and reduce reoffending by addressing underlying social vulnerabilities and unmet needs.
The successful applicant for this post will be embedded within community outreach areas of the team and will be working with practitioners accepting referrals from colleagues across the wider service area as well as criminal justice partners.
The successful applicant will support service users under the direction of practitioners to access statutory, voluntary and third sector services across the Coventry and Warwickshire area. This will include attending first and initial apts with service users to aid ongoing uptake of support and continued engagement.

Main duties of the job
You will support practitioners in their assessment and interventions by identifying social vulnerabilities, working with partners within the third and voluntary sectors such as substance/alcohol misuse services/housing services etc to meet unmet needs/vulnerabilities and provide short term ongoing support in the community, to ensure access to further support needed on discharge.
You will work closely with liaison and diversion outreach services and liaise with key stakeholders within the criminal justice system as well as the third sector.

Are able to demonstrate a commitment to high quality care and service provision. Have the ability to work flexibly and work as part of as well as across a multi-agency team?
Do you have professional experience of mental health/neurodiversity and other vulnerabilities including but not limited to substance/alcohol use, housing needs, financial stressors, gender and/or age specific vulnerabilities?
Have enhanced communication and inter- personal skills?
Are happy to be police vetted?
