Warwickshire Pre-school Autism Service Neurodevelopmental Practitioner - Band 4

Permanent, part-time

This post is an integral part of the Pre-School Autism Service within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust. The Band 4 Neurodevelopmental Practitioner will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting pre-school children undergoing assessment for autism, as well as those who have received a diagnosis, and their families.

The role involves contributing to neurodevelopmental assessments, gathering relevant histories, completing observations, and supporting the delivery of post-diagnostic support under the guidance of senior clinicians. The post holder will work closely with families, early years settings, and other agencies as part of their role.

The role includes a combination of office-based and community work, including clinics, home visits, and early years settings, with flexibility to meet service needs across Warwickshire and Coventry.

The Band 4 Neurodevelopmental Practitioner role requires a highly motivated, organised, and child-centred individual to support the delivery of the Pre-School Autism Service within CWPT. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting pre-school children and their families through the autism assessment pathway.

The role involves supporting families whose pre-school children are awaiting an autism assessment or who have received an assessment outcome and/or diagnosis. The post holder will provide appropriate information, advice, and signposting to families, promoting understanding of autism and early identification in line with service pathways.

The Neurodevelopmental Practitioner will undertake clinical support work under the supervision of experienced clinicians within the team. This includes contributing to the autism assessment process by gathering and reviewing information from parents/carers, early years settings, and other allied health professionals.

The role also includes a range of administrative responsibilities, including the collation, analysis, and reporting of assessment related information, supporting service audits and quality improvement. The post holder will ensure accurate record keeping and effective coordination of information across the pre-school autism assessment pathway.

The post sits within a wide multidisciplinary and multiagency team across Coventry and Warwickshire.You will be working within community settings such as nurseries, schools , clinics and family homes. You will be supported by a team who have a strong commitment to clinical supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and offer proactive and innovative environment. The multi-disciplinary team includes Psychology, Speech and language Therapy , Nursing and Occupational Therapy.
