Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT)Children and Young People Services, Mental Health in School's Team are recruiting Education Mental Health Practitioners. The service has multiple teams across Coventry and Warwickshire and are currently undergoing expansion to service offers.

We are seeking Education Mental Health Practitioners in various locations across Coventry and Warwickshire. Applicants must be registered with a governing body (BABCP/BPS) be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle for business use.

We require individuals who are passionate about working with children and young people, families, education staff, and the wider school and college community to provide evidence based and innovative support for emotional wellbeing and mental health.

JOB SUMMARY

To undertake psychological assessments of individuals up to the age of 17 who are referred to the service.

To offer and provide low intensity psychological interventions to children, young people and their families who are experiencing mild to moderate depression and anxiety including stress and adjustment to life events. This will include both individual and group work.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using a range of suitable and evidence-based interventions.

You will also support schools and/or colleges with whole-organisation approaches to mental health and wellbeing, this may involving supporting schools to complete a self-assessment of its mental health provision and understanding. This role supports the Government's priority of increasing access to and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.

You will also play a role in the education, training, consultation and support in mental health and psychological issues for Schools and other primary care professionals and relevant agencies. For example, you may advise on sleep hygiene and problem solving, educate young people in how to manage anxiety and depression, promote approaches that improve emotional health and wellbeing or advise education staff and signpost further information, to ensure they can give children and young people the right support

If you work in primary schools or in social, emotional and mental health or learning disability settings, your work will also involve liaising with parents and carers.
