Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced and creative individual to join the Solihull Community Learning Disability Team, to provide highly specialist clinical expertise and clinical leadership in the provision of Occupational Therapy to adults who have learning disabilities, complex health needs including behaviours of concern and sensory processing issues.
The service uses the Model of Human Occupation as a clinical model and experience of using this model and standardised assessments used would be an advantage. The post holder will hold a complex caseload and work as part of a supportive and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
1. To carry a clinical caseload of complex clients with learning disabilities.2. To interpret referrals, conduct initial interviews; assess the strengths and limitations of the client.3. To plan and implement appropriate treatment plans involving patients/clients/relatives/carers and multidisciplinary colleagues as appropriate. Treatment may be delivered in a variety of community settings.4. To provide clinical leadership to the Occupational Therapist within the LD team in specific community localities and ensure the teams objectives are in line with the overall objectives of the Community LD Team. To ensure that the Occupational Therapy processes are standardised across teams.

- Significant post graduate experience in Learning Disabilities
- Current Registration with Health and Care Professions Council without restriction.
- Fieldwork Educators Course (or be prepared to undertake this)
