Job summary

To work as a maintenance team member for Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust,

Providing highly skilled installations, maintenance, testing, fault finding, repairs and improvements to electrical, mechanical, and other services, together with building fabric for all Trust properties and where the Trust operates a service level agreement to provide a service to 3rd parties.

The work will be both complex and/or non-routine in nature, requiring the post holder to be flexible, adaptable and proactive to provide a customer focused service.

The post holder will remain aware of the effect and impact to the safety and comfort of patients/clients, staff and members of the public and the effect and impact to the environment resulting from their actions.

The post holder will carry out a multi skilled function, this will include in addition to the postholders core specialist skills, electrical, mechanical and building trades on equipment,buildings, electrical and mechanical services within their level of professional competence.

The post holder is expected to work alongside other trades where necessary to complete maintenance tasks within the department.

All work will be carried out to a high standard in terms of workmanship, quality, efficiency and health & safety.

Main duties of the job

Plan and priorities own work on a daily basis and that of Contractors, Semi-Skilled staff, Gardeners when required.

Some tasks will be on-going. The post holder will be adaptable and proactive providing a flexible approach and willrespond to the needs of the service.

Responsible for minimising impact to service users when carrying out work.Responsible for own equipment, tools and materials ensuring they are kept safe at all times and do not come into the hands of patients or clients; good working practices must be followed at all times.

Responsible for ensuring all equipment, tools, materials and debris are removed once the work is complete.

To assist in the scheduling and implementation of planned preventative maintenance work on plant, equipment, buildings, electrical and mechanical systems.

To carry and use a Trust mobile phone and other equipment, as deemed necessary.

To drive the Trust vehicles for the purpose of transportation of tools, self and others.

  • Must have served a recognised electrical or mechanical engineering trade City and Guilds apprenticeship, or BTEC, ONC or NVQ3 Certification or completion of a structured training program in electrical or mechanical engineering for a minimum period of 3 years.
  • 2 years post qualification/structured training & apprenticeship experience in building maintenance
  • 16th Edition Wiring Regulations (Electrical only)

Experience

Essential

  • At least 2 years post apprenticeship experience of operating within a maintenance environment
  • Working using own initiative where required.

Other

  • Must have access to own vehicle for on-call
  • Must possess full driving licence
