Occupational Therapist

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust

The closing date is 12 May 2025

Job summary

The team has invested in considerable staff training and development over the years to develop staff skills with working with our patient group. Working within an established team, you'll be managing a caseload of patients who have complex mental health problems and delivering Occupational Therapy Interventions plus a range of psychological interventions. Full training will be given on these. As a successful candidate you will have the opportunity to build your skills and confidence. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, using evidence-based approaches and time limited interventions. You'll be communicating with a wide variety of patients; professionals; partners and agencies.

As part of working in our team you will be working with some individuals who can present as chaotic & emotionally dysregulated. This can be a challenging patient group, however, we have a positive attitude & non-judgemental approach toward our patient group, understanding what has brought them to their current presentation, recognising individual strengths and establishing clear, focussed, professional relationships that identify clear boundaries and expectations for both the patient and clinician. This empowers both patient and clinician to see what can be achieved through clear collaborative care planning.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for staff with a passion for assessing and working with people with complex and significant mental health problems. We see this as an ideal opportunity to further develop specialist skills. It is important you have good communication skills and can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues. A willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills and develop your practice is vital.

This team provides interventions on a one to one basis and group formats. You will have the opportunity to participate and run groups and you will be given training within the team for this.
