Job summary

The Paid Clinical Work Experience Opportunities for Disadvantaged Aspiring Clinical Psychologists is a national NHS England scheme to offer opportunities to underrepresented groups.
Some groups are currently underrepresented in psychology. At CWPT we're committed to ensuring equitable opportunities to support local people to start and excel in their psychology career.
This year we're inviting applications from people who have been socially disadvantaged. This must be evidenced in the supporting information of the application.
This may include people who:
have lived experience of the care system
were a mature student because university education at earlier age was not affordable
are under refugee or humanitarian protection
have a disability
are carers
received grants, bursaries or awards to help finance university studies due to low income.
To be eligible for the scheme you must:
1. Hold an upper Second-Class Honours degree or Master's conversion within the last 18 months. This must enable eligibility for Graduate membership with the British Psychological Society.
2. Have unrestricted right to work in UK or Current Employee on Work Permit.

Main duties of the job
Exclusions- We are unable to accept applications from candidates who:
Hold or are studying for a Master's degree (with the exception of a Master's degree completed as a conversion degree for applicants with a non-psychology undergraduate degree OR a combined undergraduate MSc degree)
Receive a salary relating to a psychology post, or are a post-graduate trainee in a university programme.
Held any substantial prior paid assistant psychology post, research assistant or similar employment. Previous paid work experience at a very limited period or employment (such as sessions for less than the equivalent of four weeks in total) as a research assistant/assistant psychologist, will be accepted.
CWPT has a wide range of services across adult, older adult, child and adolescent and learning disabilities services.The current roles will be place in our adult community mental health or learning disabilities services.
It would include:
Direct work with services users (individual and groups)
Observing the work of a range of professions to gain understanding of different roles and multidisciplinary team working.
Shadowing psychological professionals
Service-related projects including co-production, audit, and research.
The roles are usually fulltime however there are opportunities to create flexible working patterns where this is supportive.
