37.5 hours per week (part time considered)

We are very pleased to advertise the role of Senior Children's Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in our Children's Physiotherapy team. This service provides musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment and treatment to the paediatric population of Coventry. This is a skilled post where the postholder will utilise their clinical knowledge to assess and treat children and young people in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

The postholder will work closely alongside colleagues who cover other areas in the physiotherapy and occupational therapy services. These include early years, mainstream and special schools, respiratory, Advanced practice (including non medical prescribing), upper limb and splinting.

We have an established supportive development program for new starters, along with regular clinical and management supervision, IST's and journal clubs. CWPT support external CPD opportunities including apprenticeships.

Main duties of the job

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • To provide assessment and treatment for a caseload of children & young people with predominantly musculo-skeletal physiotherapy needs.
  • To be responsible for managing a defined caseload of children and advising Clinical Specialists of any difficulties with this.
  • To empower others to support children with physiotherapy needs.
  • To participate in the in-service training rota.
  • To contribute to reports, including reports for Education, Health & Care Plans.
  • To maintain a high level of clinical knowledge and keep abreast of new developments via literature reviews, participation in clinical forums, clinical supervision and research projects, and membership of Clinical Excellence Networks. (CENs).
  • To support/ represent the Clinical Specialists (under their direction), as and when required.
