Are you passionate about psychological staff support? Would you be interested in joining the CWPT COPE service (Employee Psychological Therapy)?
COPE has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Counsellor to join the team 0.4 wte for 12 months.
The successful applicant would provide brief counselling (12 sessions) to staff on the COPE Counselling Waiting list.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of the COPE service that provides psychological interventions for the employees of CWPT and will deliver short term Counselling interventions to clients who meet the criteria. The post holder will work with clients who have a range of issues such as stress, anxiety, loss, low mood.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
This post is part-time post and where possible could be worked flexibly.

The post holder will
Hold a Counselling Qualification from accredited programme by BACP or UKCP (the minimum level of a diploma in counselling or psychotherapy, but could be a bachelor's degree, master's degree or doctorate)
BACP/UKCP accredited (or already working towards accreditation prior to application)
Post qualification counselling practice supervised to BACP/UKCP requirements
Experience of working in a medical setting, IAPT, primary care, mental health services, social services or equivalent setting
Experienced in working therapeutically with a diverse and complex patient population, including patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds, using interpreters if needed. Sensitive to and respectful of patients differing cultural, religious and social issues.
Confident in autonomously undertaking assessments, identifying risk issues and taking appropriate preventative action to ensure patient safety in accordance with NHS policy, professional guidelines and relevant protocols.
