Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work across Primary Care place-based teams in our Coventry area, in both a clinical and leadership role

This is a unique opportunity to join the Psychology Service within our Primary Care Mental Health Service, an ambitious service established over the past 18 months. We're passionate about offering the right psychological support early on, and in this role, you'll ensure our patients can access this care at the point of need.

You will be employed by Coventry and Warwickshire and Partnership NHS Trust but be embedded within a group of GP practices (Primary Care Network) with a focus on supporting local patients living in Coventry, offering care at the point of need.You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) environment, within an established Primary Care Psychology Service and contribute to the development of our evolving service.

Main duties of the job

This is both a clinical and leadership role so you will have a meaningful impact on improving the access, experience and outcomes for service users on a daily basis through promoting and offering early psychology assessments, formulations, brief psychological interventions and consultations in a recovery focused way.

Leadership responsibilities may include the clinical supervision of our CWPT junior psychology team members; training; service evaluation; communication with our clinical directors, GPs and wider GP practice colleagues; supporting the Psychology Leads in the coordination of the day-to-day operational management needs and clinical issues arising from mental health service delivery.

You will also contribute to delivering and co-developing the primary care mental health service model. This includes care pathways for the provision of integrated mental health care within the Primary Care Networks and Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.
