Forensic Community Mental Health Support Worker / OT Assistant - Band 3

Do you have the skills and motivation to work with people who have mental health needs and associated forensic history?

We have a vacancy in the new Community Mental Health Forensic Team for a community support worker who would like to join our new team that works across Coventry and Warwickshire. We are based at Swanswell Point in Coventry City Centre.

You will need to have at least an NVQ 3 in health and social care, or equivalent qualification, and experience and a desire to work in mental health.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work alongside a dynamic, supportive, multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, psychologists and social workers as well other agencies to deliver recovery focussed interventions in the community. The role will be wide ranging, diverse and interesting, with no two days being the same.

The team share one large open plan office with other services; therefore have regular team events and developments to support a positive working atmosphere, and collaborative working.

You will receive regular support and supervision. Ensuring that staff are well supported is important throughout the team. We also welcome opportunities for staff to develop, and this will be discussed throughout your time with the team.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can work confidently on their own, as well as supporting the team. Good communication and problem solving skills are essential, as well as knowledge of severe mental illness and the challenges this brings in daily life.

You also need to be a driver with access to a car that can be used for business purposes. We are looking for people who can demonstrate the Trusts Vision and Values in practice, and are motivated to be involved in innovation and service development.
