Job description

Job responsibilities

The team works across Coventry and the whole of Warwickshire (north and south) to provide additional therapeutic support for the children and their families and adults who are most at risk of an admission to a Tier 4 hospital. We sit within the Learning Disability and Autism Directorate and as such we are part of a large multi-professional group which offers the opportunity for knowledge and skill sharing. There will be opportunities for Continual Professional Development, regular clinical supervision and participation in Reflective Practice Groups. Whilst we sit within this directorate, a higher proportion of the young people we support fall within Rise (CAMHS) with whom we also have strong links. The team describe the work they do as no 2 days are the same and very rewarding when they are able to be part of the MDT in keeping a young person out of hospital.

As a team we work systemically to understand and support the significant impact and challenges experienced by children and adults with autism who are in mental health crisis, and their families. In order to do this, we work with the network around the child/adult (e.g. RISE, Adult Mental Health, Social Care, Education) and work closely with commissioners. As anurse you will have experience of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working as you will need to attend and chair regular MDTs, CETRs and EMDTs.

As a Speech and Language Therapist you would visit child/adult in their home / at school / in appropriate setting multiple times a week to engage them and carry out our assessments and interventions. This is an exciting time to join our Team as we mature and expand and continue to look for innovative ways to support the families we work with. If you are passionate and motivated and are driven to prevent children and adults with autism and mental health needs from being admitted to hospital, then we want to hear from you.
