Job summary

Come and join our dynamic senior leadership team (SLT), as Matron for Learning Disabilities and Autism Secure Services. You be responsible for clinical/ operational leadership and management across 4 secure wards, directly managing ward managers/clinical leads and be an active member of their multidisciplinary teams. You must have a minimum of 3 years at Band 7 ward manager level and experience in an LD&A setting.

Visible nursing leadership is critical, offering specialist advice for inpatient secure services and driving service improvement. Knowledge and experience of QI mythologies are advantageous. You will contribute to workforce reviews, ensuring teams have skills/knowledge to deliver evidence-based interventions, that support coproduced and exceptional quality patient centred services.

This role offers the opportunity to engage in collaborative approaches across the trust, liaising with nursing lead peers from across the organisation and to be part of the wider Reach Out provider collaborative.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for:

Providing clinical and operational leadership, overall planning, management and delivery of service transformation in secure services.

Work in conjunction with the General Manager,Associate Director of Operationsand Associate Director of Nursing, to provide professional leadership and efficient, effective, high qualityservices for service users and staff.

Work alongside of Pathway Managers/Matrons who contribute to the wider LD&A Directorate management team, providing cross cover, deputising for the General Manager and participating in the on-call rota.

Delivery against the five key CQC Tests of Safe, Caring, Responsive, Effective and Well-led.

Delivering services within allocated resources/budgets and agreed national and local quality standards, key performance

Workforce reviews, ensuring appropriate numbers, the right level of knowledge, skill and expertise.

Effective communication, ensuring robust systems exist, enabling staff to feel informed, engaged and able to influence Trust priorities.

Presenting and communicating complex information to a wide range of audiences with different levels of understanding of subject area.

Leading investigations of complaints/untoward incidents, implementing lessons learnt are in a timely and effective manner.

Line management responsibility and accountability for designated services and the staff within them.
