Job summary

Community Children's Nurse Band 6 - 37.5 Hours Per Week.

The Community Children's NursingTeam is part of the Children and Young People's Community Nursing Service and cares for CYP with complex physical health needs. A vacancy has arisen within our service for an experienced paediatric nurse. This role offers a valuable opportunity to be part of an innovative service, develop your professional expertise and make a difference where it matters.

We are looking for someone with compassion and commitment. In return you will be part of a service that is warm and friendly and is committed to the children we support. If you have extensive experience in caring for CYPwith complex physical health needs requiring specialist nursing care including palliative care and would like to work in a community setting this post is for you.

Main duties of the job

The post involves being a caseload manager for a group of CYP with complex health needs and their families at home, in school and respite settings. This will include training parents, carers and staff from other agencies. Multi professional and multi-agency working is an essential part of the role. The role involves some out of hours working and taking part in the telephone on-call and end of life rota.
