Job summary

Are you a current Band 7 Clinician working in Adult Mental health or Adult Learning Disabilities?

Are you a Nurse or AHP or Social Worker with a special interest in Adult Autism and/or Adult ADHD?

Would you like an opportunity to be part of an incredible team which assesses Autism and ADHD.

We have a unique opportunity for a current band 7 to be seconded into the Adult Neurodevelopmental team. You will be working alongside highly trained and specialised clinicians of various disciplines and conduct (with support and guidance - as required) Adult Autism and ADHD Assessments.

Full training will be provided however an understanding of Adult Autism and ADHD is essential.

Main duties of the job

Ideally, we are looking for a clinician who has skills in working with and assessing individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions. Although prior experience and knowledge of relevant ASD assessment protocols such as the Adult Asperger Assessment (AAA) tool and/or the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is ideal, training can be provided. Experience and knowledge of relevant ADHD assessment tools such as the Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults (DIVA) will also be beneficial.

To support you in your continued development a strong emphasis is placed on CPD and clinicians are encouraged to participate in case discussions regularly. You will also receive clinical supervision from an experienced clinicians and be linked with the wider assessment team.

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, with postgraduate training in neurodevelopmental disorders and standardised diagnostic assessments, OR
  • Registered Allied Health Professional with post graduate training in diagnostic assessments, OR
  • Social Care Worker with post graduate training in diagnostic assessments, OR
  • Appropriate Post Registration qualification in Child & Adolescent Mental Health such as EMDR, DBT
  • Evidence of post registration training to masters level or equivalent

Knowledge and skills

Essential

  • Skilled in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management
  • Specialist Knowledge of the range of neurodevelopmental disorders and co occurring mental health problems and appropriate services
  • Knowledge of recent changes and current issues in neurodevelopmental service provision
