Trainee Psychological Therapist in DBT

Band 6 Trainee Psychological Therapist -DBT (moving to Band 7 on successful completion of the training programme).

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the DBT Service within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust, which is operating as part of the Trusts developing Personality and Complex Trauma pathway in secondary care mental health services. This is a newly created post through Health Education England funding as part of community mental health services transformation.

This is a development post (Band 6) during which you will undertake a 2 year PGDIP in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy provided by the University of Bangor in partnership with DBT British Isles. The training is fully funded, and specialist supervision will be provided by both the training course and DBT service. On successful completion of the course you will move to a band 7 psychological therapist in the DBT Service.

The DBT service provide both individual and group DBT therapy, actively participate in weekly Consultation Team meetings, undertake specialist assessments, develop DBT formulations, and help further develop and improve their existing provision.

The post holder would be joining an embedded ,experienced and enthusiastic DBT team. Therefore this would provide you with substantial opportunity to learn, practice, and develop your DBT expertise in collaboration with the training programme.

The DBT service is currently based in Nuneaton. However you will be working across the geographical area covered by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.
