Band 5 Perinatal Loss Pathway Assistant Psychologist
Permanent 37.5 hours- 9-5 Monday - Friday
We are looking for a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist to join the Perinatal Team- Loss Pathway based at Willenhall Primary Care Centre. The post holder will work under supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide and coordinate assessments and deliver appropriate interventions to individual and groups of patients. Part of this role will also include administrating facilitate research and service development.
Main duties of the job
Our Assistant Psychologist will provide psychological interventions to women presenting within the Perinatal loss pathway with mental health needs. You will offer psychological assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention, using evidence-based programmes that may be individual or group based under the supervision of an experienced qualified clinical psychologist.
You will receive regular supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist and will be line managed by an experienced senior healthcare professional.

An honours degree in Psychology (and eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society), as well as previous experience of working within mental health care settings is essential and an ability to work independently and work alongside colleagues from the multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge and skills

- Competent in a range of IT skills appropriate to the post
- Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, relating to complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
- Participate and undertake audit evaluation and research. Completed clinical audits within a service
- Ability to function in a largely autonomous fashion, subject to suitable supervision
- Appropriate understanding of confidentiality in a mental health context
