The successful applicant will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team including other Band 6 and Band 5 Occupational Therapists, and Band 3 support workers to deliver recovery focused interventions in the community. We also have close links with individual placement support workers, as vocational rehabilitation is one of our NICE guidelines.
You will receive support and supervision from the management team and professional supervision from the lead Occupational Therapist.
Visits to the team or questions are encouraged to appreciate this exciting role.
Main duties of the job
The team is very supportive and involves working closely with psychology, medical, social work, support work and nursing colleagues. This allows us to conduct joint and responsive interventions based on service user need and allows for each group to work closely within their own profession al skill base.
Your caseload will be a mix of OT specific intervention, with some demand for care co-ordination, assessments and duty cover. As the OT demands of the team are so high, your caseload will be adapted to meet the needs of the OT service and wider team.
Staff are encouraged to bring their own ideas, and there are ongoing opportunities for developing group work, alongside our current Recovery focussed, and life skills groups. There will be opportunity to learn and utilise a range of skills such as CBA, sensory work, prescription of basic aids and adaptations, amongst other mental health specific OT interventions.
