Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self motivated individual to join the Theatre Administration Support team at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
This position is for a full time Theatre Receptionist working 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, shift times range between 7:00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
We have 1 permanent post and 1 fixed term post available.
You will be the first point of contact for visitors and patients attending Theatre reception, greeting and welcoming patients when they arrive for their surgical procedures.
You will also provide administration support to clinical and non clinical staff within Theatres and Day Surgery
Main duties of the job
To admit patients onto the electronic patient system when they arrive for surgery.
To ensure the reception area is manned and provide a welcome, clean and tidy area at all times.
To liaise with secretaries and consultants re Theatre list order and subsequentley, prepare, print and distribute theatre lists for the following day.
To respond to telephone enquiries from both internal and external callers.
To telephone and inform patients when and where to present for their surgery and provide any fasting instructions required
