Job summary
Ward 3 is a 24 bedded general medicine ward, receiving
patients from AMU and often directly from A&E with a wide range of general
medical conditions. They are usually
with us for short period and long period of time whilst their condition is
being diagnosed, stabilised, monitored and treated.
An opportunity has arisen for a full time Ward Clerk within
County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust based at University
Hospital North Durham.
The purpose of the role is to provide general clerical,
administrative and reception duties to ward 3.
The successful applicant will be expected to work both as
part of a team and to use their own initiative and work unsupervised to ensure
the effective co-ordination of duties.
Previous clerical experience and knowledge of the healthcare
environment is essential.
Main duties of the job
To provide administrative and clerical support to ward 3 to
facilitate the efficient functioning of the ward.
Working a five-day week
Welcoming patients and visitors onto ward 3 ensuring a
friendly, kind, caring introduction

To contribute to prudent stock control/maintenance.
To be aware of resource constraints and the importance of
working within budget.
