Job summary

The Radiology Student Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the education and development of our college and undergraduate learners within the Radiology Department. This position ensures that all students receive a high quality, well organised clinical placement experience by coordinating timetables, supervising day to day activity, and acting as the primary point of contact for learners and academic partners. Working closely with radiographers, clinical leads, university teams, and external partners, the coordinator helps maintain an excellent learning environment, supports student wellbeing, and contributes to developing the future workforce.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role include:

Placement coordination organising student rotas and daily supervision.

Induction and onboarding delivering clear, well organised introductions to the department, covering safety, policies, expectations, and learning opportunities so students feel confident from day one.

Educational support ensuring students meet learning outcomes and have access to appropriate clinical opportunities.

Liaison role serving as the link between departments, universities, and practice educators.

Quality assurance helping maintain high standards of training, feedback, addressing performance issues and student experience.

Pastoral support offering guidance, signposting, and support to students throughout their placement. Providing mentor support.

Maintaining an inclusive learning environment promoting a culture where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to learn, regardless of background or experience.

The main duties of this role include:

Risk Assements - ensuring risks are assessed and mitigations put in place as and when required including implementation of reasonable adjustments.

Be a key link across clinical teams, working closely with colleagues within and beyond the Imaging Department to ensure patients receive a consistently high quality service.

Support patients with clarity and compassion, communicating complex instructions in a way they can understand. Youll adapt your approach to each individuals needs, including those who may be seriously unwell or facing distressing conditions.
