Job summary
A vacancy has arisen within the Surgery Care Group for a
motivated and enthusiastic person to support the unit managers in a Junior
leadership role within the Endoscopy Services as a band 6 clinical
sister/charge nurse on the Bishop Auckland
site. We are entering a phased
period of development within the Endoscopy Service across the trust with lots
of exciting development opportunities.
The successful applicant will be an experienced
Endoscopy Practitioner (NMC registered) with leadership skills and knowledge at
a band 5 level looking to develop their own leadership and service improvement
skills.
Main duties of the job
You will be working with the Endoscopy team, in the delivery
of high quality care within the parameters of a comprehensive clinical
governance framework. The post holder will create an environment that promotes
excellence in nursing practice and empowers staff to develop high levels of
clinical skill and allows staff to develop to their full potential by leading
from the front. The clinical band 6
would also deputise in the day to day management of the unit in the absence of
the band 7. You will be required to work closely with senior nursing, medical
and senior management colleagues. You
will provide support to the band 7, Matron and General Management team to
deliver strong leadership and development of our endoscopy MDT.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of JAG
requirements and the ability to articulate this effectively. Audit process and
delivery of JAG standards are an essential part of this role. The successful
candidate will be able to deliver a wide range of Governance processes to each
department ensuring first class care is provided to our service users.
The role includes on call support and is
required to work clinically to support services within Endoscopy
